Yurek Idzik has worked for thirty five years in the field of Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy.

In his early work, he worked with adolescents with difficulties in a residential setting. He went on to manage acute mental health services for local authorities, providing a number of different therapies. He currently works in private practice as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist.

Over his career he has formulated ways of working with people in breakdown and anxiety disorders of many types, adopting the philosophical position that everyone has the resources to contend with difficulty but may require assistance in uncovering those strengths.

Alongside his professional practice he has been involved with several universities researching in Child Development and Psychotherapeutic studies, assessing the outcomes of differing kinds of therapeutic interventions.
